Since the beginning of 2022, R4C team has been working diligently on 4 robotic pilots and the results speak for themselves.
Large-scale pilot 1 – France
VINEYARD AND VEGETABLE MECHANICAL WEEDING WITH CEOL ROBOT
One of the two robots has been repaired and updated from AgreenCulture. With this now improved robot, R4C team will weed 9 fields in the season of 2022.
Driver and one trainee for the metrics are currently putting this robot into practice. The goal is not only to acquire the scientific measures, but also to manage the equipment in real life settings. It is important for farmeers and advisors to get acquainted with this equipment, and learn how to monitor all the procedures involving the robot (engaging, cleaning etc.).
Large – scale pilot 2 – GREECE
CEOL AND RETROFITTED TRACTOR FOR SPRAYING OPERATIONS ON TABLE GRAPES
At the beginning of June, the team will have a meeting to discuss the exact time the tractor will arrive to Greece. In the meantime, the existing tractor is going to be modified and improved, so that the spraying component can be mounted on it and the robot is usable in the field.
Large- scale pilot 3 – SPAIN
APPLE ORCHARDS SPRAYING WITH RETROFITTED TRACTOR
At the end of April, a meeting was held in Teyme to test the tractor and the sprayer. The test wassuccessful, showing that GPS system is the only thing that can be improved. The team is currently working on GPS and making arrangements to send the tractor and the sprayer to Spain.
Large-scale pilot 4 – THE NETHERLANDS
MECHANICAL WEEDING WITH ROBOTTI
The team in the Netherlands conducted some field tests in April. Robotti was not driving completely straight, but that was improved. Now, the preparations for the seeding season are in progress. The seeding materials are ready, as well as weeding equipment. It is expected that the seeding will start in two weeks, and one week after, the team will start weeding, if the weather allows.
