The Greek pilot led by Pegasus AgriFood Coop-7 grapes is up and running with some amazing results and meaningful change to society, improving the health and well-being of the community through the Robs4Crops project.

2022 in a nutshell: Using modern technology to improve productivity

The purpose of Robs4Crops project is to make farmers work easier with less cost in a safer and healthier environment. With smart technology that sprayers and tractors have, they save water and contribute to pesticide reduction. That is a far more economical solution for the future. The idea is that the automatic tractor performs as many activities as possible, so that farmers don’t have to be physically present. To manage this kind of technology, a high level of training is required. That’s why along with associates in Europe, they are constantly evolving their training methods.

“In 2022 our main goal was to introduce the pilot to the farmers or simple passers-by so that they could get acquainted first hand with the benefits that our pilot is offering. We did that on a field next to the road of our district, making it an open space for discussion and questions that we happily answered. In the next phase our plan is to make our results even more visible and available by filming a video, sharing it, connecting with journalists and spreading the word.”

Motivation for 2023 

Pegasus AgriFood Coop’s motivation for 2023 is to use the benefits acquired through this project to make a long term impact, which means- process automation, reduction of reckless use of pesticides and fertilisers, while saving on water. They envision to uplift the mentality of farmers and the Robs4Crops project is the perfect way to begin with change.
